One thing though, in Safari, you can actually highlight address in the address bar simply by double or tripleclicking. You don’t have to drag the mouse all the way across. You can also activate the right click on your mouse in system preferences.

Also, you can num-lock and use the letter keys as a numerical keypad.

Also, you can activate right click on your mouse via system preferences.

I too am super unimpressed with Microsoft Office for mac. I use Apple’s iWork suite to do all my typing and presentations, though I am iffy on its Excel equivalent. The Powerpoint equiv, Keynote, is really spiffy though.
